A nice double feature of stories on KGW NewsChannel 8 (my former employer) last night talking about the new tax credits for local filmmakers, production companies and video game designers. While the stories focused on the later, the Oregon Film Office program is designed to increase local production jobs by offering a tax credit for smaller productions (not Grimm or major motion pictures which already had a decent tax credit).
So now narrative video, film or game projects which spend between $75,000 and $1 Million here can save up to 20% on what they buy from Oregon businesses and as much as 16% on local wages.
Check out the Oregon Film Office website for more information.
I’d give it two thumbs up.
